On 25 April Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg signed the EU Treaty of Accession of Bulgaria in the Neumunster Abbey in Luxembourg. On behalf of Bulgaria the historic document also signed by President Georgi Parvanov, Minister of European Affairs Meglena Kouneva and Foreign Minister Solomon Passy.

The signing of the Treaty became possible after in May 2004 the government started the coordination between the Bulgarian administration and the EU on articles of the Accession Treaty, which was done according to the timetable, following the procedure, applied in the case of the 10 new EU member states.   More Details »
